When will there be another book?

Although I have started collecting a number of writings for a matched set of two more books, the thoughts have not flowed into my mind the way they did when I was younger. The four books that are available now are a complete set. The next books will be slightly different in thoughts and physical appearance. I also hope to finish a really touching and inspiring story that I have had for some time.

Whatever became of the “autograph parties” idea?

When the website first came out I thought that it would be a good idea to visit with readers around the country. Most of the people that responded were very much in favor; however, I quickly realized that my readers were so spread out across the country that it would be very difficult to get enough people together in each city to make the parties work. So I am going to visit a number of cities and do the normal autographing at stores. I am thinking about also letting people stop by my hotel lobby and visit on a more personal basis than just standing in line to have books signed.

How can I meet Javan?

I do hope to visit over a hundred cities during 2006 and 2007; however, I realize that this is a huge country and I may not get any where close to where you live. If possible you might want to join me on a trip. If you enjoy or would like to learn either tennis or snow skiing, I have a favorite place (GrayRocks.com) outside of Montreal, Canada where I will be visiting one or two weeks in both the winter and early summer. This is a great place to vacation and improve your skiing skills in winter or your tennis or golf in the summer. Gray Rocks has 14 clay tennis courts and two beautiful golf courses. They have packages that include ski lessons, golf lessons, or tennis lessons plus room and board. The location is beautiful, the people are friendly, the food is delicious, and the price is very reasonable. I always go before or after the peak season, which is even more reasonable and less crowded. Also, there is the possibility of a discount if a group of people go the same week. I will also be listing a couple of cruises each year that I will be taking that you might be interested in. I will be searching for the best deals, but if a number of people go at the same time there may even be an extra discount.

Can I use your writings on my website?

The writings are copyrighted and can not be used for commercial purposes; however, I do not mind (actually I consider it a compliment) if someone wants to use something from the books in a non-commercial way, such as a web-site. I only ask that you double check and make sure you have the writing exactly the way it is in the book. I hate it when someone changes the words or misspells a word, and then puts my name on it. Of course at the beginning or the end of the writing you should put the name Javan.

Will you come and speak at my school?

I have talked with students at a number of schools and I find it an enjoyable thing to do, when the students have read from my books and know who I am. The more excited the students are about having me visit, the more excited I am about being there. I have visited schools where the teachers had not introduced my books to their students and the interest level was very low. So if your teachers have introduced the books and most of the students know who I am, I would be glad to visit your school. Also, if one of your school’s clubs or organizations (band, choir, cheerleaders) needs to raise money for uniforms or a trip, the books by Javan can be an easy way to earn one or two thousand dollars or even more (see the Special Offers page). The visits would have to be approved and arranged by the administration, and would have to take place when I am in or near your city.

Are your writings about your own life?

Everything I write has been influenced by my life and my attitude toward life; however, there are quite a lot of the writings that are not exactly something that I personally have experienced. I have been inspired by movies, songs, and other people’s stories. I do not believe I have ever written anything that is not true to my character, personality, or the way I look at life.

Will you read my poetry?

I do not read other people’s work for several reasons. The main reason is time. I do not have enough time to read all the work that would come my way if I were to read other’s work, and I would not do some and not others. Also, I am neither a teacher nor a critic, I probably would not give an honest evaluation if I did not like the work, and I certainly prefer not to be put into that situation. If you enjoy doing the writing and expressing yourself, you certainly do not need me to validate it.
